Ali Ihasan Azeez: Landscaping (Baghdad)
Ali Ihasan Azeez is a curious and ambitious young agricultural engineer. He has developed his pilot project material by doing research on how to maintain the grass clean colour during cold and hot temperatures. He registered a patent with the Ministry of Planning. His project is innovative and should have market potential given the harsh climate conditions in summer and winter which affect any landscaping project.
Ali has been encouraged to pilot his project in several sites to further prove its effectiveness. He has made good progress in thoroughly documenting his project. Ali received in-kind support. He is also a candidate for knowledge and experience sharing. The harsh environment in summer and winter in Iraq has negative effects on green landscape, since the grass becomes yellowish in summer and winter. This innovative pilot project’s main product is a liquid to be sprayed on the grass to maintain the green colour during very hot summer and cold winter.
Ali’s reflection on the programme:
“When I developed the material which is the product of my start-up, I needed training on project management, and through GIZ programme I was able to focus, and I study steps to succeed and complete my patent and my project.
Through this project, an agricultural innovation project was born, which is the production of natural oils for hair, in addition to the chlorophyll flattening project. Green, which was and still is the main project, faced many challenges due to commitments.
The competence and determination possessed by the respected trainers pushed and encouraged us to continue the path, and the interest and commitment towards developing our agricultural projects and plans for a promising agricultural future.
We thank you for all the support that was provided, and we thank our teachers, and we also thank Miss Sadaf, and all those in charge of the program. We are ready to attend and participate in training what we have learned and continue developing our projects. We aspire to find an investor who will buy the material on a large scale, and we are working on registering a second patent for the product.“
Ali Ihasan Azeez was a participant at the Entrepreneurship program for start-up ans MSME Development.
The GIZ “Private Sector Development and Employment Promotion” (PSD) Project is supporting the development and piloting of business models in sectors with a strong potential for new job creation. As part of this workstream, the GIZ PSD project has launched the project “Entrepreneurship program for start-up and MSME Development, innovation and job creation in the agribusiness sector”, implemented by AMBERO Consulting GmbH. This project focused on supporting the development of promising business ideas in the downstream segments of agricultural value chains, particularly in the field of processing, marketing, and service provision.
