The Program ‘Adaptation of the urban water sector to climate change, with the participation of the private sector’ is active in four areas. Through the creation of a monitoring system for public and private water users, transparency will be guaranteed for the following information: water balance, water quality, supply and demand of water and existing use conflicts.
The public and private actors are expected to exchange information in committees, platforms, etc. and increasingly work together to develop public-private adaptation projects. Public and private actors in the water sector are expected to be aware of the effects of climate change and will align themselves strategically to adapt to climate change.
The water resources management in the catchment areas of the rivers Chillón, Rímac and Lurín (ChiRiLu) is aligned to the adaption to climate change and the private sector is involved regarding related decisions and possibly also financing.
AMBERO works in a consortium with GITEC Consult.
