Training of the civil registry offices of the PAMEC’s partner municipalities

From January to March 2021, workshops were held in Douala and Garoua to train the staff of the civil registry offices of the PAMEC’s partner municipalities in the compilation of statistics.
Context
The United Nations standards recommend a.o., that civil registry offices systematically compile statistics, which should be used as a decision-making tool for the authorities in development planning.
Since January 2021, PAMEC has been engaged in a process aimed at introducing statistics into the „job description“ of civil registrars. For this purpose, two training modules have been developed and taught, in a pilot project, to the civil registrars of the partner counties: eight (08) civil registry offices in the region North and eight in the regions Littoral (01) and South West (07).
