Memorandum of Understanding signed between CReLIC and IWM

On 17 February 2021, Climate Resilient Local Infrastructure Centre (CReLIC) under the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Water Modeling (IWM) in a signing ceremony held at LGED Bhaban at Agargaon, Dhaka. Through the signing of this MoU, CReLIC and IWM agreed to exchange data, knowledge and experience on climate change as well as to develop and implement joint researches related to climate change adaptation and resilience. As a result, the two sides will work together to develop climate change resilient local infrastructure throughout the country with the aim to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Bangladesh Delta Plan 2100 (BDP 2100).
AMBERO is leading the Institutional Development Consultant (IDC) joint venture (JV) who is responsible for the establishment of Climate Resilient Local Infrastructure Centre (CReLIC) under the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), Bangladesh. Germany-based Como Consult GmbH and New Zealand-based Training and Technology Transfer (TTT) are the JV partners in this initiative.
Additional Chief Engineer LGED and Director for CReLIC, A.K.M. Luthfur Rahman and Deputy Executive Director (P&D) IWM, S.M. Mahbubur Rahman signed the MoU on behalf of CReLIC and IWM. The Executive Engineer CReLIC Md. Safiqul Islam, IDC Team Leader Bert van Ommen, IDC Deputy Team Leader Golam Kibria, and IDC Management Specialist Mahmood Reaz represented from CReLIC, whereas IWM were represented by Head of Climate Change Cell Md. Tariqul Islam, Head of Research and Development Abdulla Hel Kafi, and Manager Business Development Samiun Nabi.
