Within the framework of a GIZ call for tenders for the project Promoting economic participation of internally displaced people and host communities” in West Cameroon, AMBERO Consulting and is looking for an expert starting in December 2022 for the position: 

 

International Team Leader (f/m/d, 21 months, Yaoundé / Bafoussam)

 

Project description: In the West Region of Cameroon, internally displaced persons (IDPs) and vulnerable groups among the host population lack access to local authorities and opportunities to improve their social and economic situation. The project aims at a greater participation of IDPs and the population of selected host communities in economic and social life. Its objective is to improve access to vocational qualification measures as well as access to income-earning and employment opportunities. 

Tasks:
• Overall responsibility for the advisory packages of the contractor
• Design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of capacity development measures for local partners in the following areas: parts of Output 1
• Taking cross-cutting themes into consideration (for example, gender equality, do no harm, leave no one behind, digitalisation)
• Staff management, in particular identifying the need for short-term assignments within the available budget, planning and managing the assignments and supporting local and international experts
• Regular reporting in accordance with deadlines
• Responsibility for checking the use of funds and financial planning in consultation with the officer responsible for the commission at GIZ
• Maintaining contact with other donors

 

Qualifications:
• Knowledge of French (C2), German (C2) and English (C1)
• MA degree in social sciences, economics or business administration
• 6 years of professional experience in private sector development, employment promotion, income generation and technical and vocational qualification
• 5 years of management/leadership experience
• 5 years of work experience in Subsaharan-Africa
• 6 years of experience working on development cooperation projects
• 5 years of experience in forced displacement or with a conflict-sensitive approach in conflict-affected countries
