AMBERO wins GIZ tender on climate adaption of seminomadic pastoralists in Northern Kenya

AMBERO extends its East Africa Portfolio by a new project on climate change adaptation in Northern Kenya.

Recently, AMBERO in consortium with IAK Agrar Consulting, started implementing the project “Territorial approach to adaptation to climate change in Kenya” in the Counties Marsabit and Turkana, financed by the German Energy and Climate Fund.

The project objective is to advise the decentralized bodies of the relevant ministries with reference to the following fields of Activity:

Promoting conflict sensitive and sustainable management of water and pasture resources

Generating income for livestock keepers through small-scale irrigation and cultivation techniques explored in pilot projects

Improving and valorizing of the fishery sector at Lake Turkana

Adapting marketing structures and infrastructure for livestock trade including improved access to markets and financial information
