Team Leader - Rural and Regional Development Support to Serbia

Who we are. The project:

AMBERO Consulting GmbH, Germany, is a service provider in the area of international development cooperation (www.ambero.eu). On behalf of different clients, we implement long-term projects in Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia.

Together with our partners, we expressed our interest in being invited for offering our services to the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) for “Rural and Regional Development Support to Serbia” (August 2015 – August 2018). The Project wants to provide resources for the facilitation of an inclusive regional and rural policy making and promotion process in Serbia inspired by European good practice, domestically owned and supportive to local, rural and national stakeholders to act upon. The Project will support at least two different rural and regional development initiatives stemming from at least two different regions of Serbia.

For this tender, we collaborate with AGRIDEA, Switzerland; the Research Team for Agricultural and Regional Development Triesdorf, Germany (ART); the Development Consulting Group, Serbia (DCG); and the Institute for Architecture and Urban & Spatial Planning, Serbia (IAUS).

We seek:

Currently, we are seeking a Team Leader (international long-term expert or national long-term expert with international expertise) in charge of overall project management, and as the main contact person for SDC and partner organizations. He/she will be responsible for achieving the project outcome and outputs and ensuring their quality through the establishment of a monitoring & evaluation system. He/she will be in charge of coordinating all stakeholders and experts involved and ensuring transparency of project implementation for partner organizations.

He/she holds a master’s degree in spatial planning, regional development, agricultural sciences, economics, or related discipline. He/she should have relevant experience and competencies in rural and regional development, promotion of functional spaces, networking and dialogue facilitation between different stakeholders, policy dialogue, and empowerment of regional stakeholders to successfully apply for funding; further, public private partnerships involving national and internal private sector companies. Serbian rural and regional development expertise is an asset. He/she must speak excellent English and, preferably, Serbian, too. The position requires proofed experiences from European countries and working experiences from Western Balkans, preferably Serbia. Experience with SDC will be an asset.
